Ingeborg Dayeen

Ingeborg Dayeen, 96, of Conway, entered into her eternal heavenly rest on February 16, 2018. Born on July 1, 1921 in Aue, Germany, she was the only child of loving parents Mr. and Mrs. Willy Ahnert. During her childhood she enjoyed participating in various outdoor activities including swimming, boating, skating and skiing. Blessed with a sense of adventure from an early age, Inge often loved exploring the Saxony Region of Germany on the back of her father’s motorcycle. Inge survived World War II and escaped Soviet occupied East Germany to come to the United States in 1948. She married the love of her life, Joseph Dayeen, on July 29th of that same year and they eventually built a house and their lives in Conway, PA. Inge and Joe travelled the country extensively as he embraced and supported her adventurous spirit by leaving town at the drop of a hat. Following Joe’s death on February 8, 1994, she continued to travel the U.S. as well as make several trips to her beloved homeland. In her later years, she enjoyed tending her garden and snapping pictures of many hummingbirds that came to visit the beautiful flowers on her porch. Inge was a faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ambridge, and, until last year, her fierce independent spirit continued to shine as she often drove into Pittsburgh to sing and enjoy fellowship at the Teutonia Männerchor club of Pittsburgh. Inge will be sadly missed by her friends both here and in Germany. A private service was held at the Noll Funeral Home Inc., 333 Third St, Beaver, PA 15009, followed by Internment at Economy Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at www.nollfuneral.com.
