James R. Buck, 80, of Beaver passed away Friday January 15, 2016.
Born August 8, 1935 in Beaver, he was a son of the late Oliver O. Buck Sr. and Margaret (Sebring) Buck Eiler. He was a 1953 graduate of Rochester High School and a Veteran of the U.S. Army. Jim was a longtime member and part of the staff at the First Presbyterian Church in Beaver for almost 40 years. He currently served as Minister of Visitation.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Darlene J. Buck in 1990, his son Jeffrey in 2003, brothers Oliver O. Buck Jr. and Patrick Buck, and two sisters Margaret Boswell and Nancy Steele.
Surviving Jim are his wife Margaret (Peg) Spooner Buck; his children Mary (Scott) Mervis, Pittsburgh; Patrick (Leah) Buck, Ford City; Douglas (Pam) Buck, Moon Township; Mark (Sarah Gayman) Buck, Seattle WA; eight grandchildren, Jimmy Buck, Mark Buck, Chelsea Mervis, Brandon Buck, Taylor Buck, Hunter Mervis, Ivy Mervis, Sawyer Mervis; his favorite sister-in-law Freda Buck, Brighton Township; special cousin, Art Cornell, Beaver; numerous nieces and nephews; and his famous visitation dog Charlie.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 2pm until 4pm and 6pm until 8pm in the Noll Funeral Home Inc., 333 Third St. Beaver. A service will be held Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 11:00 am at First Presbyterian Church Beaver, officiated by his pastor Reverend Jeffery A. Arnold.
A private interment will take place at Beaver Cemetery, Beaver. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jim’s name may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 252 College Avenue Beaver PA. 15009 or to Good Samaritan Hospice, Heritage Valley Beaver 1000 Dutch Ridge Road Beaver, PA. 15009. Donations will go toward the purchase of a blanket warmer for the Beaver unit.
