James R. Ege. Jr.

James Richard Ege, Jr., 65, of Patterson Township passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, January 12, 2016.

Born January 14, 1950 in Lambertville, NJ, he was a son of the late James Richard and Francis Brown Ege, Sr. His life of service began in high school with a world championship when, as a member of the New Hope Ambulance and Rescue Squad, his team won the title at a competition in Toronto, Canada. He also pitched for the Chapel Crusaders Softball team. James was a registered nurse, a veteran of the United States Coast Guard, and a faithful member of Chapel Presbyterian Church, Brighton Township where he served as a youth group leader. He served has an Elder at both Providence Presbyterian Church in York, Pa and later, at Chapel Presbyterian in Brighton. In retirement, James was a “handyman” extraordinaire, constructing decks, raised flower beds, cabinets, and other projects for family and friends.

James is survived by his wife, Kay Lynne Dowell Ege, Patterson Township, three sons, Mark (Danielle) Kopsack and Nathan (Christy) Kopsack, all of Chippewa Township, and James Graziano, Trenton, NJ, a daughter, Mara (John Harold) Kopsack, Frostburg, MD, one brother, Mitchell (Cindy) Ege, Lambertville, NJ, and eight beloved grandchildren, Daimen, Skylah, Gavin, Elayna, Victoria, Addison, Greta, and Caylee.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Ege-Wieser.

Friends will be received Saturday, January 23, 2016 from 10:00 am until time of service at 12:00 pm at Chapel Presbyterian Church, Brighton Township. James’ pastor and friend, Reverend Steve Maker will officiate with full military rights to be conducted by the Beaver County Special Unit. Interment will take place at a later date in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville. Arrangements are being handled by Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver.
