James Christian "Christ" Liebegott

James “Christ” Christian Liebegott, 88, of Brighton Township, passed away at his home on October 25, 2026.

Born on July 2, 1938, in Duncansville, PA, he was a son to the late James Christian Liebegott and Mildred Wrestler.

Christ obtained his bachelor’s degree and went on to work for Penn State as a Human Resources Officer, where he later retired after 29 dedicated years. He served as treasurer for the Brighton Township Historical Society, formerly served as the secretary of the Beaver Valley Rifle and Pistol Club for many years, was a faithful member of Friends of Gettysburg, and was also involved in Boy Scouts when his son, Kurt, was a boy. He was a veteran who proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his two sisters, Annetta and Barbara.

Christ will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Virginia Liebegott; his son, Kurt Liebegott; his sister, Sally Ulery; and his cat, Willie.
