Jane Brew Lanctot Colwell, 81 of Beaver, passed away Friday, April 17, 2015 at Cranberry Place with her family at her side.
Born May 20, 1933 in Rochester, she was a daughter of the late William and Eleanor Hendrickson Brew, and had been a resident of Beaver all of her life. She was a former employee of AAA, Rochester, who later alongside her husband, Bob Colwell, opened the Friendly Café in Bridgewater. It was there that she formed relationships with all of her patrons; she referred to them as her kids and all of her customers knew her as Mom. She also had co-owned and operated with her brother, Bill, Jane’s Training Table and Brew’s Spotlight on Sports in Beaver.
Preceding her in death, besides her parents, were her husband, Robert O. Colwell in 2000, and a daughter, Julie Lanctot in 1977.
She is survived by a daughter, Joan Lanctot, New Brighton, a son, John (Tina) Lanctot, Brighton Township, a brother, William “Uncle Bill” Joseph Jr. (Maureen) Brew, Vanport, a sister, Joan Cross, Erie, two grandchildren, Julie Christina Lanctot and Curt Michael Lanctot, four stepchildren, Michelle, Sheila, Robert Jr., and Julie, numerous step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and many close friends.
Friends will be received Sunday from 5 to 8 pm and Monday from 2 to 6 pm in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver, where a funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 am. Private interment will be at the Beaver Cemetery.
Due to the love Jane had for all animals, memorial contributions may be made, if desired to the Beaver County Humane Society, 3394 Brodhead Road, Center Township, PA 15001.
The family would like to thank Cranberry Place for their outstanding care of Jane.
