Janice Ann Woodward Scarsella, age 68, passed on Tuesday, 19 Oct 2021. She was born 3 Nov 1952 to Luther “Woody” and Ruthann Burns Woodward in East Liverpool Ohio. Janice attended East Liverpool High School. On 26 May 1970, she married David Scarsella. The celebrated 51 years together. She enjoyed being a stay at-home-mom for many years. Following her dreams at 38 years young, she enrolled at Pittsburgh Institute of Culinary Art. She graduated in 1992, going on to work as a collegiate and corrections institution chef. Most in life, Jan enjoyed spending time with David, her children, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and other family members. Her passion in life as cooking for those she loved, researching our family’s genealogy, shopping, and supporting the “underdog”. Jan’s courage helped her through many health issues. She battled kidney disease, breast cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, eye disease, and heart problems. Janice was accompanied in death by her loving husband of 51 years David Scarsella. Janice was preceded in death by her infant son John Aaron Scarsella, her parents, Woody Woodward and Ruthann Burns Woodward, her mother-in-law and father-in-law Mary Scarsella and Chuck Scarsella, her brother Luther “Juney” Woodward, her brothers-in-law John Lyle and Rod White. Janice is survived in death by her son Dave Scarsella, Dave’s wife Teresa, her son Matt Scarsella, her five grandchildren Austin, Bradley, Hannah, Rebecca and Toni Lynn, her 4 great grandchildren Bentley, Lincoln, Everley and Atleigh, her five sisters Jackie Lyle, Robbie Lovejoy (Eugene), Joann White, Julie Hutchinson and Joanie Woodward, her brothers-in-law Chuckie Scarsella (Peggy) and Tim Stewart, her sisters-in-law Carol Flowers, Marilyn Scarsella and Caroline Scarsella, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, her beloved cats Mouse and Zoey and granddog Bo. Family and friends will be received at Schwerha-Noll Funeral Home, 600 Beaver Ave, Midland Pa on Monday October 25, 2021, from 4pm until the time of service at the funeral home at 7pm.
