Jean M. Challis

Jean Marie Challis,79, of Brighton Township passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at her home with her family by her side.

Born March 29, 1936 in Ambridge, she was a daughter of the late Elmer and Mary Jane Higgenbotham O’Connor. Jean was a resident of Brighton Township since 1959, retiring from the former Chatham Sports Center at the Beaver Valley Mall, and later, from the Foodland, Tusca Plaza. In her spare time, Jean loved to travel and explore history. She was a faithful member of Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, Beaver.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas O’Connor, and one grandson, John S. Challis.

She is survived by three sons, Thomas H. Challis, III, Los Angeles, CA, Scott (Regina) Challis, Freedom, and Edward Challis, Brighton Township, one daughter Leanne Challis, Brighton Township, two granddaughters, Kaitlin Challis, San Diego, CA, and Alexis Challis, Freedom, one niece, Kathy O’Connor Rae, Beaver, and special friends, Tom and Andrea Challis, Beaver, Patti Challis, Conway, Linda Ketterer and Beckie Kaznam, both of Beaver.

Friends will be received Friday, February 19, 2016 from 2:00 pm until 4:00pm and 6:00 pm until 8pm in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by Fr. William Schwartz, Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 10:30 am at Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, Beaver. A private interment will take place at Beaver Cemetery, Beaver.
