Jean Haffey

Jean Haffey, 87, a lifetime resident of Brighton Township, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Heritage Valley, Beaver.

Born April 8, 1930 in Chester WV, she was a daughter of the late Morgan and Hazel Neville Jones. Jean graduated from the New Brighton School of Nursing and was a faithful and active member of Chapel Presbyterian Church, Brighton Twp. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she also devoted her time and energy to the Brighton Township Fire Department Auxiliary and the Brighton Township Historical Society, participating in the preservation of the Little Red School House.

In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Patrick O. Haffey in 2015; her sister Rose Jackson, and brother, Jefferson Jones.

She will be sadly missed by her four sons, Pat (Carol) Haffey, Ohioville, Michael (Lisa) Haffey, MN, Bruce (Dori) Haffey, New Galilee, and Matthew (Josefina) Haffey, Chippewa; two daughters, Terri Corcoran, Big Beaver, and Cheryl (Chris) Kestner, Greenville, SC; three sisters, Jane Carling, Vanport Twp., Vernice (Bill) McChesney, Darlington, and Luberta (Bob) Schleigher, Hawaii; 15 grandchildren, Rian, Katie, Brandon, Brian, Matthew, Betsy, Collin, Erin, Kiersten, Colleen, Courtney, Caleb, Amber, Shane, and Forrest; along with 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received Sunday, September 17, 2017 from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver, where a funeral service will be conducted by her grandson, the Reverend Shane Haffey, Monday, September 18, 2017 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Beaver Cemetery, Beaver.
