Jean R. Prothero

Jean R. Prothero, 92, of Beaver passed away peacefully Sunday, May 13, 2018.

Born December 24, 1925 in Rochester, she was a loving homemaker, dedicated to her family and friends. Jean took great pleasure in hosting parties for those she loved especially when she could entertain at her beloved lake house in Linwood Park, Vermilion, Ohio. Jean was a dedicated, longtime member of Park Presbyterian Church, Beaver.

Preceding Jean in death was her husband, John T. Prothero, in 1983, and her brother, Charles Reader in February 2018.

She will be greatly missed by her four children, Kathy (Larry) Bittner, Beaver, John T. Prothero, Jr., Patterson Heights, Lynne (Dave) Shallcross, Beaver, and Bob (Debbie) Prothero, Bridgewater; brother, Wayne (Kathrine) Reader, TN; sister-in-law, Helen Reader, Rochester; seven grandchildren, Lyndsay (Brandon) Owens, Lori (Matt) Hummel, John (Nicole) Prothero, Amanda (Ricky) Wall, Eric Prothero, and Courtney and Connor Shallcross; along with 14 great-grandchildren and one expected at the end of May.

Friends will be received Thursday, May 17, 2018 from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver. A funeral service will be conducted by her pastor, Reverend Mark Boyd, Friday, May 18, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Park Presbyterian Church, Beaver.
