Jerlene Tallon

On Thursday, March 31, 2022, Jerlene “Jeri” Tallon, affectionately known to her grandchildren as “Mappy,” passed away after an illness at Heritage Valley, Beaver, Pennsylvania. She was 85 years old. Jeri was born on May 26, 1936 in Midland, Pennsylvania to Fester B. and Julena (Smith) Thomas, the first of their six children. She became a member of the First Baptist Church in Midland at a young age. She graduated from Beaver Area High School and began working at Westinghouse shortly after and retired after 27 years. In 1955, she married Harry A. Tallon and they enjoyed 52 years of marriage before his death in 2007. Jeri was known to her family and friends for her kindness and good humor. She was pleased to welcome visitors and enjoyed conversation. She enjoyed crocheting, old television programs, especially comedies and those with happy endings, and word search puzzles. Even with her failing health she never lost her smile and positive outlook. Jeri was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry; her daughter, Tonia Tallon; her sisters, Joyce and Janet; and her brothers, Eugene and Richard. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter, Paula Phelps; her grandchildren, Shayla (Vincent) Sims, and Heather and Jonathan (Cindy) Phelps; a great grandson, Jeffrey X. Herrington; her sister, Joan Thomas, brother-in-law, John Harris; nephews, Anthony Tallon and Dr. Stephen Thomas; nieces, Lisa and Amber Harris; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Friends will be received Saturday, April 9, 2022, from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Beaver. Interment will take place at Beaver Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.
