Joanne M. Herman Granito, 82 of Midland passed away Saturday evening, December 31, 2016 at her home with her husband at her side.
Born March 4, 1934 in Monaca, she was a daughter of the late Charles L. and Anna Baycura Herman and had been a resident of Midland the past 40 years.
A member of the St. Blaise Parish, Midland, she had worked at Josephine’s in Midland. She loved children and had been a foster mother and also had a passion for all animals.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Joseph L. Granito, a son, Timothy (Jamie) Smrzlick, Vanport, a brother, Charles (Cherie) Herman, Monaca, two sisters, Alice Eder, Beaver, Karen Rambo, Monaca, brother-in-law, Tony Granito, Industry, sister-in-law, Rose M. Granito, Midland and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death besides her parents was her first husband, Peter Smrzlick and two brothers, Edwin and Thomas Herman.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 & 6-8 in the Schwerha-Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 600 Beaver Ave. Midland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:30 at ST. Blaise Church by her pastor Father Michael Yaksick. Private interment at the Beaver Cemetery will take place at a later date.
