John C. Conway, 77, of Industry, passed away peacefully Friday March 4, 2016, at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh surrounded by his loving family.
Born August 31, 1938 in East Liverpool, Ohio, he was a son of the late Earl and Genevieve (McGeehan) Conway. A former resident of Midland, John retired after a career in the Steel Industry with Keywell Industries and is a proud veteran of the U.S. Marines. He was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Beaver. An avid Pittsburgh Panthers football and basketball fan, John enjoyed both gardening and cooking in his spare time. His grandchildren were the center of his world.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by one brother, Joe Conway.
He is survived by his wife, Ellen Conway, a son, Gary (Nancy) Tammaro, Plymouth, MI, a daughter, Karla (Bryan Altman) Tammaro, Harmony, PA, 2 brothers, Jim Conway, Columbiana, OH, and Vince Conway, Chippewa, 1 sister, Mary (Bruce) McNeil, Chippewa, 5 grandchildren, Brandon Tammaro, Chicago, IL, Nathan Tammaro, Plymouth, MI, and Ryan, Justin, and Chris Altman, and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Monday from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8pm in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday at 10:00 am at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church Beaver by Father Frank Mitolo. Private interment will take place at Beaver Cemetery.
