John W. Downey, 91 , of Bridgewater, passed away Wednesday morning, January 29, 2020.
Born on April 14, 1928 in Indianapolis, IN to the late John Henry and Edith Irene Downey, John’s hobbies included hunting, fishing and camping, especially steel head fishing. He also cherished time spent with his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Mary L. Downey, in 2010; a brother, Eugene Downey in 2009
He will be greatly missed by his sons, Kenneth (Jeannie) Haywiser, Brighton Twp., William ( Debbie) Haywiser, New Brighton, and Wayne Downey, Bridgewater; two daughters, Chris (Michael Sly)Tharp, Bridgewater, and Cindy (Colby) Parkinson, Rochester; his sister, Teddy (Arthur) Erickson, TX; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
As per John’s wishes, there will be no public visitation.
