John E. Flynn

d. June 18, 2024

John (Jack) E. Flynn, 95, passed away on June 18, 2024, at Heritage Valley Beaver surrounded in love by his family. Born on August 9, 1928 in Braddock PA, he was the son of the late John and Mary Elizabeth (McCaulley) Flynn. Jack is preceded in death by his wife Kathryn (Nese). He is survived by his sister Beverly (Tom) Lodovico of Beaver and is preceded in death by Bill (Sarah) Flynn of Pensacola, Fla and Bob (Jayme) Flynn of Greentree.

Family meant everything to Jack and he gave up things for himself to sacrifice for family. Jack was incredibly proud of his Irish heritage. Jack was a graduate of St Thomas in Braddock in 1947 and a lifelong Catholic. His yearbook says “He’s a gentleman from sole to crown.” Jack proudly worked 43 years at Westinghouse in Beaver. Jack and Kathryn were married for 70 years and had been married at age 21 in 1949. So much more could be said but some notable things about Jack were that he never met a stranger, was liked by all, was an extremely hard worker, loved baseball and football including the Steelers, Notre Dame and Green Bay, loved music like much of his family, liked trains and loved ice cream. Jack became a lover of cats later in life and had a few close companion kitties. Jack was a jokester even at the end and always said he should have been a priest or a monk. Jack was a member for many years of St Peter and Paul Catholic church in Beaver and lived an honorable life. They don’t make them like Jack Flynn anymore.

Jack has six children, David (Lucy) Flynn of Beaver, Patricia (RIck) Morhack of Ligonier, Mary Stout of Beaver, Bill Flynn of Beaver, John Flynn of Beaver and Kathleen Flynn of Beaver. He has nine grandchildren, Marc (Erin) Morhack of Minneapolis, Minn., Lindsey (David) Wilson of Cincinnati, Ohio, Missy (Chris) Nicula of Pittsburgh, RJ (Brittany) Stout of Monaca, Amanda (Nate)Falkenstein of Hopewell, Alison Flynn of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Kelley (Steve) Simmons of Columbus, Ohio, angel baby Kevin Flynn of Beaver, Alayna (Drew) Tolson of Colfax.
