John J. Kasunich

John J. Kasunich, 95, of Midland, passed away Monday, September 6, 2021 at Heritage Valley, Beaver.

Born December 1, 1925 in Midland, he was a son of the late Steve N. and Rose M. Yurick Kasunich. John was a proud veteran of the U. S. Navy, serving in the South Pacific during WWII. Upon his return to his hometown, he began a long career as a machinist with Crucible Steel, Colt Industries, Midland. John was a member of the American Legion, Midland, and the Knights of Columbus, Council # 2005.

John will be greatly missed by his beloved wife, Dorothy Mitrovich Kasunich, Midland; sons, John M. Kasunich, Mayfield Heights, OH, and Joseph P. (Michelle) Kasunich, Butler; three grandchildren, Justin, Tyler, and Alyssa Kasunich; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, Steve Kasunich; and sisters, Kathryn Maljevac, Agnes Ezzo, and Helen Maljerec.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Blaise Parish, Midland, followed by interment at Beaver Cemetery.
