John B. Kelley Jr., 93, of Beaver, passed away on October 13, 2023. Born on August 8, 1930, in Kirby, PA, he was the son of the late John B. Kelley Sr. and Ruth Holbert Kelley, and a faithful friend of Park Presbyterian Church. Prior to enlisting in the Army, John worked as an auto mechanic at Courson-Burson Motors in Washington, PA, a Studebaker dealership that his father co-owned. After the Army, he started working at G.C. Murphy Co. in May 1955. He took a correspondence course for management allowing him to earn continuous promotions as store managers and eventually managing the warehouses. John retired in 1989 after 34 years of service. John was in the Army from Feb 1952 to Jan 1955, having earned the rank of Sergeant within the 307 Communications Reconnaissance Battalion while stationed in Giessen, Germany. He loved Studebakers and was a Mason for many years. Along with his parents, John is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sandra (April 2023); son, Bradley (1967); and his siblings, Margaret Humphries (1979), Edwin Kelley (2013), and Joan Reese (2021). John leaves behind his daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Bob Correll of Beaver; granddaughters, Sharon (Kevin) Kirschbaum, and Lisa Correll; and his great-grandchild, Camden Kirschbaum. As per John’s wishes, no public services were held. Inurnment to take place with his wife at Washington Cemetery, Washington PA.
