John S. Merriman

John S. Merriman, 51, of Brighton Township passed away April 28, 2016.

Born January 18, 1965 in Rochester PA, he was the son of Carl “Butch” Merriman, Conway and the late Joyce Smith Grandstaff.  A resident of Brighton Township for the past seven years, John was a proud Veteran of the US Navy and a member of Beaver Valley Church of God.  He enjoyed computers, playing computer games, and had a love for animals.

In addition to his mother, Joyce, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, John and Jean Smith of Center Township, and paternal grandparents, Carl and June Merriman of New Sewickley Township.

John will be sadly missed by his wife of 12 years, Sherry Knopp Merriman, his father Carl and his wife Beverly, two stepbrothers Jason (Carrie) Herrington, Wexford, Brad (Cindy) Herrington, Hendersonville, NC, two special cousins, Marc and Kimberly Justice, Brighton Township, along with all of his wife’s family.  John also leaves behind many aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and his beloved canine companion, Odie.

Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the Noll Funeral Home Inc., 333 Third Street, Beaver where a funeral service will be held with full military rights by the Beaver County Special Unit on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at 11 a.m., Reverend Matt Reitz officiating.  A private interment will take place at the Cemetery of the Alleghenies at a later date.  Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com
