Josephine Cantanzarite

Josephine (Chirico) Cantanzarite, 86, of Rochester Twp., went to be with the Lord, Saturday, February 20, 2021.

Born March 5, 1934 in Aliquippa, she was the youngest of eight children born to the late Anthony and Maria (Serafino) Chirico. She will be remembered mostly as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Her greatest joy was her family. She loved when everyone was together. Josephine was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Valley, St. Cecelia Church, Rochester.

In addition to her parents, Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Rocco Cantanzarite; and siblings, Mary Zappia, Frank Chirico, Anthony Chirico, Angeline Schafer, Dominic Chirico, and Elizabeth Young.

She will be greatly missed by her son, Michael (Trudy) Cantanzarite; daughter, Debbie (Paul) Zarrillo; granddaughters, Krista (Brian) DiBiaggio, Alicia Zarrillo, and “bonus” granddaughter, Chelsea Freund; grandson, Rocco (Kylie) Cantanzarite; great-granddaughter, Kylee Porto; great-grandsons, Nico DiBiaggio, and Cole and Chase Davis; and great-great-grandson, Brently Bittinger. Josephine is also survived by her sister, Rose Crocker and sister-in-law, Mary Chirico; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and loving friends.

Friends will be received Thursday, February 25, 2021, from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until time of Blessing Service at 7:30 p.m. in the NOLL FUNERAL HOME, INC., 333 THIRD ST., BEAVER. A private interment will take place at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Hopewell Twp. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.

The family would like to say a special thanks to her niece, Toni Thompson, her “bonus” granddaughter, Kara Harper, great-nephew and great-niece, Frank and Kim Chirico, and dear friend, Joe Conte for the love and care they showed to Josephine every day.
