Karuna Agrawala

Karuna Agrawala, born September 7, 1947, Varanasi UP India, passed away August 2, 2026, Beaver County, PA USA.

She was the beloved wife of Vishnu (m. 1969), mother of Rajiv, and daughter of Bharat Bushan Gupta and Chandramani Devi Gupta.

Karuna studied Sanskrit Literature, Fine Arts, and Indian Philosophy at Banaras Hindu University, attaining a Master’s Degree in Indian Philosophy in 1968. After her marriage to Vishnu, she moved permanently to the USA, spending the remainder of her life in the Greater Pittsburgh area, raising her son and caring for her husband.

Karuna passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning hours of August 2nd, 2026, after an illness. In the weeks before her passing, Vishnu and Rajiv spent many hours at her bedside to provide comfort. She also received care and treatment from the staff of AHN Beaver, Cambridge Village in Beaver Falls, and Gateway Hospice of Pittsburgh, for which her family is grateful.
