Laura C. “Sissy” Doyle Chambers, 89, of Midland, passed away on April 19, 2026.

Born on September 17, 1936, in West Bridgewater, she was the daughter of the late Melvin J. and Catherine R. Weigle. Sissy was a member of St Augustine Parish, St. Blaise Church, Midland, where she was a member of the Christian Mothers, as well as a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 481, and served as a chairman for Ways and Means Chairman for 4 years. She had worked and retired from IGA Grocer, having been known as “Chicken Lady”, after 20 years, then went to work for J.T. Anderson Funeral Home, for numerous years, as well as Sky Bank for 3 years, and Tax Collector for Industry Boro and Western Beaver School District for 10 years. Sissy was also the former President of the former St. Christine Parish Council, as well as the Woman Guild, both for 5 years.

Along with her parents, Sissy is preceded in death by her son, Michael E. Doyle; her first husband, Charles “A and P’ Doyle; second husband, Robert S. Chambers; brothers, Melvin J. Weigle, and John “Jack” Weigle; her sister, Elizabeth “Betts” Miller; as well as her two godsons, Rex. P. Doyle, and Mark E. Pike Jr.

Sissy will be sadly missed by her daughter, Yvonne E. “Vonnie” Doyle; granddaughter, Leah E. Gahles; step-son, Terry Chambers; step-daughter, Mary Kay Quintana; sisters-in-law, Mary B. “Honey” Doyle, and Sue Weigle; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Friday, April 24, 2026, from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM in the Schwerha-Noll Funeral Home, 629 Midland Avenue, Midland PA 15059. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 10:30 AM, at Saint Augustine Parish, St. Blaise Church, 772 Ohio Avenue, Midland, PA 15059. Private Interment to take place at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester, PA 15072.

Sissy’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Lakeview Personal Care Home, Brighton Rehab and Wellness Center, and the Heartland Hospice Nurses, specifically Alyssa, Theresa, Kayla, and Chaplain Fred for their love and compassionate care provided to Sissy during her stay with them.
