Lois J. Hines

Lois Jane Hines (nee Conner) passed away September 20, 2024 with family by her side. Born November 18, 1928, in Marshall County, West Virginia, to Bertie and Willis Conner, Lois was the youngest of six children. Lois grew up in the town of McMechen, WV.

She attended West Virginia University, where she met the love of her life, Robert Hines. They were married over 73 years until his death in August of 2023. Most of her adult life Lois lived in Beaver, PA, where she and Robert raised their six children. Over the years Lois served the community as a Brownie troop leader, volunteer at the local hospital, the Beaver Memorial Library, the Beaver Heritage Museum, and Welcome Wagon. She was a long-time member of Park Presbyterian Church. While living at Sherwood Oaks, she often attended the Dutilh United Methodist Church of Cranberry. Her hobbies included sewing and knitting, reading, and bridge.

She and her husband moved to Sherwood Oaks, Cranberry Township, in 2010, where they lived an active life for over a decade.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, her parents, Bertie and Willis Conner, and siblings Eunice Hanson, Margaret Gatewood, Ada (Connie) Paxson, Ruth Goodwin, and Willis Dale Conner, and a son-in-law, Ty Harden.

She is survived by her children, Vicki Harden of Beaver; Robert Hines, Jr, (Patricia) of Oakland, FL; Jeffrey Hines (LuAnn) of Sherrodsville, OH; David Hines (Julie) of Cranberry; Elizabeth Hines (Melanie) of Sherrodsville, OH; and Thomas Hines of Rockville, MD; eleven grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.

Friends will be received during a memorial visitation Friday, October 11, 2024, from 2 p.m. until time of service at 4 p.m. in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Bridges Hospice of Monroeville, PA.

The family would like to share their gratitude to the staff at Sherwood Oaks and Bridges Hospice for their compassionate care given to Lois during the last year of her life.
