Margaret Ruth Jackson “Peg”, 91, of Beaver passed unexpectedly on October 13, 2022 in Heritage Valley Beaver.
Peg was born on September 6, 1931 in Pittsburgh to the late George W. and Rebecca (Calhoun) Doelfel. She graduated from Taylor Allderdice High School, then attended Houghton University in New York before transferring to University of Pittsburgh, graduating from the School of Pharmacy. While at PITT she met future husband Ray Lee Jackson. She lived in Beaver for over 70 years and worked at the Beaver Geriatric Center in Beaver for many years as Director of Pharmacy. Peg worked part-time at College Hill Pharmacy in Beaver Falls.
Peg was an avid golfer and a fan of both PITT and Steelers football. If someone tried to call the house during a Steelers game, she would answer the phone saying“This better be important!”
She was an accomplished pianist, and as a member of the Beaver United Methodist Church, sang in the Choir and played in the Bell Choir. She was a past president of the Junior League Women’s Club in Beaver and enjoyed playing bridge in four different card clubs. She also played in several golf leagues during the summer and bowled in the winter.
Peg was preceded in death by her husband Ray, brother George “Buddy” Doelfel and sisters Betty Jean Fay and Lois Ries.
Peg is survived by her brother David “Skip” Doelfel (Judy), Titusville, FL and nieces Caryn, Lynne, and Christa all residents of Florida. Also surviving are her nephew Robert Ries (Divinia), Indiana, and her niece Ardith Ries, Pittsburgh. She is also survived by her sons David (Gail), Canton, OH and Mark (Heidi), Beaver. Grandchildren surviving are Alexandra Jackson Thomas (Peter), Westerville, OH and their children Hunter, Kai and Charles, Robert Jackson Beaver, and son Alexander and Christopher Jackson, Kent, OH.
Peg was dearly loved by her family and many friends.
