Margaret “Margie” Zapico, 72 of Midland passed away, Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Magee Women’s Hospital, Pittsburgh following a courageous 19 year battle with Cancer.
Born August 31, 1943 in Midland, she was a daughter of the late Soterino and Josephine Zapico and had been a resident of Midland all of her life. A 1961 graduate of Lincoln High School, Midland, she was currently serving as the manager of Midland Heights where she had worked the past 22 years. She had formerly worked at Crucible Steel, Colt Industries, Midland in the Human Resource Office and was a faithful member of the St. Blaise Parish, Midland.
Preceding her in death besides her parents is her sister, Anita Hermick who passed away in 2015.
Surviving is her brother, David J. (Maureen) Zapico, Midland, her nieces and nephews, Johnny, Kristen, and Michael Hermick, David A. Zapico, Jeffrey (Lynn) Zapico, Lori (Dave) Smith, and great nieces and nephews, Nicole and Alayna Smith, Zachary, Cassidy, and Emily Zapico and Joey and Grace Hermick.
Friends will be received Friday from 2:00 until 6:00 pm in the Schwerha-Noll Funeral Home, 600 Beaver Ave., Midland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:30 am at St. Blaise Church by her pastor, Father Michael Yaksick. Interment will follow at the Beaver Cemetery.
