Maria Lucente

Maria Lucente of Center Township passed away peacefully on February 10th, 2021, at the age of 85. Maria was born on December 15th, 1935 in Pratola Peligna in the Province of L’Aquila in the Abruzzo region of Italy. She was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Roman Catholic Church in Center Township. Maria loved gardening, Italian music, movies and making homemade pasta dinners on Sundays. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Guido Lucente and her daughter, Lorena Lucente. Maria is survived by her son Daniel Lucente, her daughter-in-law, Denise Gregoire-Lucente and grandchildren, Coral Lorena Lucente and Caleb Daniel Lucente. Maria loved her family dearly. She found a renewed joy in being a grandmother and spending time with her two “precies” as she called them. The family would like to express tremendous gratitude to the nurses and staff of Gallagher Hospice and Reformed Presbyterian Home. The family would like to recognize nurses Andrea, Brenda, Kris, Paul, and Mika for their care and compassion. The family would also like to thank home health aide Josalyn for helping Maria look her best even when she wasn’t feeling it, Pastor Dave for his weekly spiritual counseling visits, and Hillary Maria’s case manager who helped manage her care. Without the support of these angels the family would not have been able to keep Maria comfortable or in the comfort of her home as she battled cancer. Services are private.
