Marjorie Mengel

Marjorie Helsing Crozier Mengel, 93, of Brighton Township passed away Thursday, March 17, 2016.

Born May 20, 1922 in Fair Oaks, PA, she was a daughter of the late Blanche and Walter Helsing. Marjorie attended Rochester High School and Nyack and Wheaton Colleges. She was a former member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, but recently was attending First Presbyterian Church, Beaver.

In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband Ted Mengel, and her brother and sister-in-law, Dr. Walter and Gay Stroupe Helsing.

Surviving Marjorie are two sons, David J. (Connie) Crozier and James A. (Vickie) Crozier, one daughter, Christina (Mark) Chervenick, seven grandchildren, Chisa Chervenick, Jaime (Matt) Fosnaugh, Chad (Jennifer) Chervenick, Jennifer (Christopher) DeSanzo, Valerie Crozier, Jimmy Crozier, and Kiersten (Matt) Leonard, along with five great-grandchildren, Chloe and Aiden DeSanzo, and Brox, Miles, and Greyson Fosnaugh. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, including a very special niece, Barbara Helsing Kaufman.

Friends will be received Monday, March 21, 2016 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver, where funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Jeff Arnold, Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at 11:00 am. A private interment will take place at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marjorie’s name may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 252 College Avenue, Beaver, PA 15009.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Trinity Oaks Care Center and Gateway Hospice for the compassionate care given Marjorie.
