Martha E Reese

Martha E. Reese, 96, formerly of Beaver, passed away peacefully Thursday morning, December 17, 2015 at Villa St. Joseph, Baden.

Born November 22, 1919 in Altoona, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Vivian Snyder Hirst.  Living in Beaver and Brighton Township for most of her life, Martha was a homemaker and a faithful member of Park United Presbyterian Church and several bridge clubs.  Martha is also remembered as one of the founders of the Brighton Township Girls Softball Athletic Association.

In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband Gilbert B. Reese in 1983, a daughter, Sandra Reese-Ferrari in 1997, three sisters, and a brother.

Surviving her is a son Michael (Denise) Reese, Vanport, a daughter, Debbie Reese, Beaver, and two granddaughters, Melissa Reese, Monaca and Emily (Rodney) Bowcock, Wilder, KY.

Friends will be received Saturday, December 19 from 1 pm until 4 pm in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver, where a service, conducted by Pastor Ken McGaffic, will immediately follow at 4 pm.  Private interment will take place at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester.  Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Martha’s name to the Villa St. Joseph, 1030 West State Street, Baden, PA 15005.
