Martin R. Maloney, 90, of Beaver, passed away on July 26, 2018 in Jefferson Hospital, Jefferson Hills, PA.
Born on March 2, 1928 in Pittsburgh to the late Francis and Margaret Straka Maloney, Martin retired from Crucible Steel, Colt Industries, Midland after over 25 years. He came from a family of 6 children and was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. A veteran of the US Army, he had served in Occupied Japan. A faithful member of the Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, Beaver, where he took pride in serving as an usher. Martin was an avid bowler and loved following the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was one of the world’s nicest guys and always had a joke for those he met, a peppermint patty too.
Along with his parents and siblings, he was preceded in death by his wife Geraldine F. Maloney in 2007. He was also preceded by his mother-in-law, Christine Sisko, who he had devotedly taken care of for several years prior to her death.
Surviving Martin is his son and daughter-in-law, Stephen Maloney and Sharon Bruni, Whitehall Pa, one surviving brother, James Patrick Maloney, Pittsburgh, a niece who was more like a sister, Ruth Ann Casselberry, Lawrenceville, and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
Friends will be received on Sunday July 29, 2018 from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm in the Noll Funeral Home Inc., 333 Third Street, Beaver PA 15009. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday July 30, 2018 at 10:00am at Saints Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church in Beaver. Online condolences may be shared at www.nollfuneral.com
Private interment will take place at St. Augustine Cemetery, Millvale Pa.
