Mary Margaret (Peg) Aten, 96, of Franciscan Manor, formerly of Beaver, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on March 4, 2016. Born December 9, 1919, in Braddock, PA she was the daughter of the late George and Nell Aten.
A proud WWII Veteran, Peg was retired from Westinghouse after 41 years of service. She was a member of the New Brighton First Presbyterian Church and spent time volunteering at Contact of Beaver Valley, Meals on Wheels and the Beaver Medical Center.
In addition to her parents, Peg was preceded in death by a brother Edward Dean Aten and a nephew, Albert Hancock.
She is survived by her niece, Mrs. Peggy Hancock, Ellwood City, two step nieces, Jean (Herb) Brown and Peggy (Jim) Hostetler, and two step nephews, John L. Cunningham and James R. (Lois) Cunningham.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 pm at the New Brighton First Presbyterian Church 1199 3rd Avenue, New Brighton, PA where a service will be held at 4:00pm by Rev. John Dickey. Private interment will take place in McKeesport Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.
Peg’s family would like to thank the caregivers of Franciscan Manor for the loving care she received the past three years and also the Kindred at Home Hospice for their excellent care.
