Mary Joan Boys

Mary Joan Boys , 75 of Brighton Twp, passed away Monday, May 30, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver, with family present.

Born April 2, 1941 in Emporium, PA, she was a daughter of the late George S. and Violet Whiteman Boys.  A 1959 graduate of Franklin Area High School, she later graduated from Geneva College with a degree in accounting.  She had worked for the Federal Aviation Agency in Washington DC, the Veterans Administration Hospital and until she retired in 2008 worked as office manager for her husband, David L. Gropp, Esq.   She was an active and faithful member of the Trinity Anglican Church, Beaver where she served with the Altar Guild, the Vestry, sang with the choir, was a Lay reader, and worked with the youth and children.

Surviving is her husband of 28 years, David L. Gropp, two children, Dawnene L. (Brigham) Young, Farmington, UT, Daniel W. “Will” (Cristen) Bridges, Chester, WV, 7 grandchildren, McKenzie (Nate) Winn, Brigham S. Young, Matthew C. (Sierra) Young, Anna-Natasha (Andrew) Milito, Caleb Neal Young, Moriah A. “Sugar” Bridges, Daniel W. Bridges III, and 6 great grandchildren,  Kenna, Callie, and  Vivi Jo Winn, Addalene, Deacon, and Daisy Young.  She is also survived by4 nephews.

Preceding her in death besides her parents was her daughter, Danielle N. Bridges in 1967, a brother, David R. Boys, and a sister, Emily H. Tarr.

A memorial service will be held Saturday at 10:00 am at the Trinity Anglican Church, Beaver, conducted by her pastor, Father Scott Homer.   Arrangements are being conducted by the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St, Beaver.  Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.
