Mary J. Bryner

Mary J. Bryner, 66, of Brighton Twp., passed away at home surrounded by her family and friends, Thursday, April 4, 2019.

Born August 3, 1952 in Toledo, OH, she was a daughter of Oscar Massingill, Harrogate, TN and the late Donna Jean Taylor Massingill Kovac. A graduate of The Ohio State University, Mary had resided in Beaver and Brighton Twp. since 1979. She worked as a Respiratory Therapist at both the former Aliquippa Hospital and Medical Center, Beaver, before retiring in 2017 as a Research Technician with the University of Pittsburgh. She was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church, Brighton Twp., helping out as a secretary, Sunday school teacher, and treasurer. Mary committed much of her time to the American Cancer Association, particularly to the Relay for Life. In her spare time, she could be found rooting for her Buckeyes and the Steelers. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends at Posey Lake, MI.

Besides her father Oscar, Mary will be greatly missed by her beloved husband of 18 years, Harold W. “Bill” Bryner; four step-children, William (Gerri) Bryner, Bowling Green, OH, Michael (Ronda) Bryner, Chesapeake, VA, John (Nina) Hollingsworth and Lynn Hollingsworth, all of West Middlesex; three sisters, Marjorie (Peter) Witkowski, Dublin, OH, Jan Kovac Materni, Perrysburg, OH, and Julie (Joe) King, Lake, MI; one brother, Ken Kovac, Oak Habor, OH; brother-in-law, Bill Nicholas; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her mother, Mary was preceded in death by her step-father, John Kovac and sister, Cindi Nicholas.

Friends will be received Sunday, April 7, 2019 from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver. A funeral service will be conducted by her pastor, Reverend Freda Snyder, Monday, April 8, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.
