Mary Kay Parsons

Mary Kay Stevenson Parsons, 59, of Midland, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospice, Heritage Valley, Beaver surrounded by her mother and family.

Born June 2, 1957 in Rochester, she was a daughter of Rosemarie “Moonie” Stevenson, Midland and the late Nicholas Stevenson. Mary Kay had lived in Midland all her life, graduating from Midland High School in 1975, and later, CCBC. She worked the past 17 years in the Treasury Department at the Beaver County Courthouse, Beaver, and was a faithful member of St. Blaise Parish, Midland. Mary Kay was also affiliated with the St. Anthony Club, Mothers Guild of St. Blaise Parish, and the Carnegie Free Library, Midland, and had a passion for gardening.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dani Parsons in 1984.

Besides her mother Rosemarie “Moonie”, Mary Kay is survived by her companion of 16 years, Greg Scelp, Midland; her daughter, Ashlee Parsons, Daytona Beach, FL; one brother, Glenn (Jody) Stevenson, Madison, IN; one sister, Nita (George) Bebb, Wilkes Barre, PA; and a large, loving family including a special cousin, Marsha Kosanovich, Patterson Heights.

Friends will be received Friday, November 18, 2016 from 2 until 4 pm and 6 until 8 pm in the Schwerha-Noll Funeral Home, 600 Beaver Avenue, Midland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Michael Yaksick Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 10:30 am at St. Blaise Parish, Midland. Interment will follow at Beaver Cemetery, Beaver. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Carnegie Free Library, 61 9th Street, Midland, PA 15059.
