Mary G. Smith

Mary G. Smith, 82, of Beaver, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2018, at Good Samaritan Hospice surrounded by her loving family. Born November 10, 1935, in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Cecelia Grieb. Mary worked at Bell Telephone until 1959 when she left to pursue her true vocation of raising a family with her husband James. A loving wife, devoted mother, and doting grandmother and great-grandmother, Mary took great pride in her family and will be remembered as a caring and compassionate homemaker. A faithful member of Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, she never missed mass. Mary will be greatly missed by her beloved husband of over 60 years, James R. Smith, Beaver; three sons, James (Lisa) Smith, Jr., and Tom (Janet) Smith, all of Hopewell Twp., and Ron (Diane) Smith, Illinois; two daughters, Maryann Smith, Florida, and Susan Ward, Industry; three sisters, Sister Francis Xavier Grieb, Scranton; Lois McLean, Florida; and Cathy McDonough, Monroeville; seven cherished grandchildren, Jessica (Marshall) Shaw, Emily, Chris, Brittany, and Hannah Smith, Mary Beth Ward, and Caitlin (Zack) Walker; along with her great-granddaughter, Norah. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Grieb, and sister, Jean Young. Friends will be received Monday, August 20, 2018, from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the NOLL FUNERAL HOME INC., 333 Third St., Beaver. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated by her pastor, Fr. Robert Miller, on Tuesday, August 21, 2018, at 10 a.m. at Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church, Beaver. Interment will follow at Beaver Falls Cemetery.
