Maureen E. Zapico

Maureen E. Zapico, 78, of Ohioville, passed away Thursday afternoon, June 23, 2016, at Heritage Valley-Beaver, surrounded by her loving husband, children, grandchildren, and family.

Born May 19, 1938 in Beaver Falls, she was the daughter of the late Barney J. and Mary E. Breslin Synowka. A resident of Ohioville most of her life, she was a devoted homemaker and mother. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family and was a faithful member of St. Blaise Parish, Midland.

Surviving Maureen is her beloved husband of 53 years David J. Zapico, two sons, David A. Zapico, Newtown Square, PA and Jeffrey L. (Lynn) Zapico, Robinson Township, one daughter, Lori (Dave) Zapico Smith, Moon Township, and five grandchildren, Nicole and Alayna Smith, and Zachary, Cassidy, and Emily Zapico.

In addition to her parents, Maureen was preceded in death by her sisters-in-law, Anita Hermick and Margaret Zapico.

Friends will be received Sunday, June 26, 2016, from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm, and 6 pm until 8 pm in the Schwerha – Noll Funeral Home, 600 Beaver Avenue, Midland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Michael Yaksick Monday, June 27, 2016 at 10:30 am in St. Blaise Parish, Midland, followed by interment at Beaver Cemetery, Beaver.
