Melvin Ray "Zeke" Fisher

March 13, 1938 — December 21, 2021

Melvin Ray “Zeke” Fisher, 83, of Industry, passed away Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at home with his wife by his side.

Born March 13, 1938 in Lowesville, WV, he was a son of the late Clarence and Rose Johnson Fisher, and a 1956 graduate of Morgantown High School. Zeke was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served with the 82nd and 101st Airborne Division as a Paratrooper. A resident of Industry for over 55 years, Zeke retired as Lead Stock Clerk with US Airways, following a 42-year career. He was a 32nd Degree Mason (F & AM Glasgow Lodge 485), a Shriner, a member of the Midland American Legion, and a lifetime member of the Midland Sportsman Club. Zeke attended the Beaver United Methodist Church, Beaver.

Zeke loved fishing, hunting, playing cards and sharing hilarious stories of growing up in West Virginia and his time in the Army. He truly loved life and always made the most of it no matter what he was doing. Quick to laugh and always ready to tell a joke for every situation, he will be missed by everyone who was lucky enough to know him, especially his longtime friends/family: Nicky, Jim and Michelle, Les, his card playing buddies and all the guys from Hi-Lo Camp.

Surviving is his loving wife, Vicki Judd Fisher; son, Leland “Lee” (Tracey) Fisher Industry; step-daughter, Michelle Miller, Beaver; stepsons, Todd (Dana King) Miller, Monaca, Michael (Kelly) Miller, Maryland; two brothers, Fred “Pete” (Helen) Fisher, and James “Bill” W. Fisher, Fairmont, WV; grandchildren, Wyatt and Mikayla Fisher; step grandchildren, Alec Miller, and Austin Taylor; step great-granddaughter, Jordyn Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Zeke was preceded in death by his first wife, Sharon Lee Cicci Fisher in 1997; an infant son in 1973; and two brothers, Clarence Fisher Jr. and Jack R Fisher and other family members he loved dearly.

Friends will be received Monday, December 27, 2021 from 2 PM to 4 PM and 6 PM to 8 PM in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver, where a funeral service, with full military honors, will be conducted Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at 11 AM. Interment will be private at Arnettsville Cemetery, WV. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com. The family asks that masks be worn during visitations and the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Melvin’s name to Beaver United Methodist Church, 345 College Avenue Beaver PA 15009, or Smith’s Ferry Methodist Church, 110 Liberty Avenue Midland PA 15059.

The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Oliver, Dr. Kenneth House, and Gallagher Hospice for the compassionate care given to Zeke over the years.
