Mildred Ann (Mickey) Jurich, age 96 of Vanport, passed away on February 22 surrounded by her family at home.
She was born on August 3, 1928 in Powhatan Point, Ohio and was a graduate of Cadiz High School in Cadiz, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late Milan and Helen Bizic of Adena, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Steven Jurich and by her daughter, Patricia (Bill) Beckmann. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Helen and by five brothers, John, Milan, Sam, Don and Rudy. She is survived by two brothers, Stephen and Charles (Judy) Bizic, and by her sons, Steven (Jeanette) and Danny (Debby), as well as by five grandchildren, Brandon (Jessica) Reader, Katie Beckmann, Juliann (Brandon) Acon and Elizabeth and Jennifer Jurich. She is also survived by two great grandchildren, Mickey Goehring and Gwenn Acon, as well as by multiple nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mildred was employed by Westinghouse Corporation in Beaver until her retirement in 1994. Throughout her life she enjoyed cooking and hosting family gatherings, particularly around the holidays. She was also a former member and president of the Van Buren Woman’s Club. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend by all who knew her.
Friends will be received on Friday, February 28 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Noll Funeral Home, 333 Third Street, Beaver. A service will be held on Saturday, March 1 at 11:00 AM, by Reverend Todd Allen, at Noll Funeral Home. Interment at the Beaver Cemetery will follow at a later date.
