Norma Jean Deemer

Norma Jean Deemer, 98, went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior on August 13, 2026. Born February 5, 1928, in Beaver, Pennsylvania, to the late Fred and Thelma Howe, Norma was a lifelong Beaver resident until moving to Chippewa Township in 2006 and later to Marietta, Georgia, in 2020. She graduated from Beaver High School in 1946 and married Lawrence E. Deemer on November 18, 1947. Together they shared more than 50 years of marriage and raised two sons, Richard and Larry.

Family and community were central to Norma's life. She was active in Boy Scouts with her husband and sons and served as president of both the Beaver Area Band Parents and Beaver Area Football Mothers. She and Lawrence were longtime members of Beaver United Methodist Church. Norma treasured her many friendships, including those from the Timberwood community and from her years working in Calcutta, Ohio, where she enjoyed crafting and selling with dear friends. Her companion, Bob Stolz, brought her much happiness in her later years, and her beloved Lucy Cat was by her side for 19 years.

Norma is survived by her son, Richard E. Deemer (Maxine) of Marietta, GA, and their children, Ryan (Kelly) of Roswell, GA; Leslie Jenkins (Garry) of Marietta, GA; and Laura Young of Marietta, GA. She is also survived by her son, Larry K. Deemer (Yan) of Darlington, PA, and his children, Karie Fleming (Dennis) of Brighton Township, PA, and Jessica Dawson (Ralph) of Bridgewater, PA. She also leaves behind eleven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; her sister, Becky Wilczek; and her nephews, Douglas (Mary) and Dennis (Brenda), and their families.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, Lawrence, and her grandson, Levi Deemer.

Norma will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Beaver Cemetery. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends
