Norma J. Swartzlander, 83, of Brighton Township, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, July 14, 2016, at Heritage Valley, Beaver.
Born June 20, 1933, in Brighton Twp., she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Margaret Snow and had been a resident of Brighton Twp. and Beaver all of her life. Norma had retired after 14 years as the executive assistant at Trinity Episcopal Church Beaver. She was a faithful member of the Park Presbyterian Church Beaver and a 1950 graduate of Beaver Area High School. Due to her love of flowers and gardening, she was a member of the Tusca Ridge Garden Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald W. Swartzlander, in 2006 and two brothers, Fred and Don Snow.
She is survived by two sons, Jay Swartzlander, Brighton Twp., and Jeffrey Swartzlander, Bridgewater, N.J.; a daughter, Joy (Mark) Koeppen, Fairfax, VA; four grandchildren, Amy Swartzlander, Monaca; Amber Swartzlander, Brighton Twp., and Will and Ian Koeppen, Fairfax; a sister, Barbara (Jim) Tutwiler, Beaver; a sister-in-law, Nancy (Jeff) Conner, New York, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. She will also be sadly missed by her beloved dog, Mindy.
Friends will be received Sunday from 12 noon until 3 p.m. in the NOLL FUNERAL HOME INC., 333 Third St., Beaver. A funeral service will take place Monday at the Park Presbyterian Church at 11 a.m. conducted by her pastor, the Rev. Mark Boyd, and her close friend, the Rev. Carl Neely.
