Paul R. Mengel

Paul R. Mengel, 71, of Vanport, passed away in his home, Wednesday, January 20, 2016, with his wife and son at his side.

Born August 30, 1944 in Rochester, he was a son of the late Walter and Mildred Ginther Mengel and had been a resident of the Van Buren Homes the past 49 years.  Paul retired from Westinghouse Electric and Eaton Corporation, Vanport, after nearly 40 years of service.  He was a member of the Beaver Falls Elks Club and Beaver Falls Owl Club, as well as the Van Buren Men’s Club.  Paul loved classic cars, especially his 1964 Impala, and was active with the Beaver Fever Car Cruise, Cruisin’ Few, and formerly with the Happy Days Car Club.

Surviving Paul is his wife Sharon D. Pedaline Mengel, having just celebrated 50 years of marriage.  One son, Bob (Sonya) Mengel also survives Paul along with two grandsons, Jim and Steven Mengel, and special friends, Max, Spike, and Chloe.

In addition to his parents, preceding Paul in death are a son, Michael “Orv” Mengel in 2011, two brothers, and a sister.

As per Paul’s wishes, there will be no public visitation.  Interment will take place at a later date at Beaver Cemetery.  All arrangements are being handled by the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver.  Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com
