Paul R. Rose, 91, of Beaver, passed away at home, surrounded by his family, Wednesday, March 22, 2023.
Born August 26, 1931 in Gallitzin, PA, he was the son of the late John W. and Elizabeth M. Rose. While working at Burke’s Auto Store, Paul was transferred to the Beaver Valley from Gallitzin in 1950. In a short period of time, he met Inez. They were married in 1952. As luck would have it, the Army drafted him later that year. After serving the military during the Korean War, Paul graduated from Geneva College. He worked at the former Armstrong Cork, before moving on to AM Byers. He then started a 33 year career at J&L/LTV Steel. Active in his children’s lives, he was a Cub Master and band parent, serving as president of the band parents. He was active in his grand children’s lives as well, attending as many sporting and arts activities as time would permit. Paul was a former Beaver Falls volunteer fireman, a member of American Legion Post 174, Gallitzin, PA, and Saints Peter and Paul Church, Our Lady of the Valley Parish, Beaver and a member of the Brighton Township Lion’s Club, serving as its president during his time there.
He will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, and proud grandfather and great-grandfather.
Paul will be greatly missed by his wife of nearly 71years, Inez M. Rose, Beaver; son, Paul E. (Joelle) Rose, Medina, OH; Carol A. (David) Harvey, Tunkhannock, PA and Karen M. (Mark) Roper, Beaver; grandchildren, Jennifer Rose, Paul Rose and Eric (Rustee) Rose, David (Heather) Harvey, Danielle Harvey and Courtney (Brad) Buchner, Dr. Sara (James) Roper-Thomas and Kristofer (Stephanie) Roper; along with great-grandchildren, Alayna and Max Roper, Victoria, Violet and Nicholas Harvey, Angelina Harvey and Brad Buchner.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his brother, John J. Rose, and his great-granddaughter, Bella.
Friends will be received Sunday, March 26, 2023, from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, March 27, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Saints Peter and Paul Church, Our Lady of the Valley Parish, Beaver. Interment will follow at Beaver Cemetery.
