Paul Verzella

Paul D. Verzella, 91 of Hookstown, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Heritage Valley Beaver unexpectedly with his wife at his side.

Born April 13, 1924 in Midland, he was a son of the late Severino ‘Sam’ and Josephine Verzella, and had been a resident of Hookstown for over 40 years. He retired from Crucible Steel, Colt Industries, Midland; he then opened a greenhouse in Hookstown for 15 years. Currently he had a stained glass studio where he created art that he shared with numerous organizations and friends. A veteran of the US Air Force having served as a tech sergeant during WWII, he was a member of the VFW Hookstown and the Pittsburgh Iris and Daylily Society.

Preceding him in death besides his parents, were two sons, Steve and John Verzella, four brothers, Anthony, Lou, John and William Verzella, two sisters, Linda Giordano and Mary Rodosky.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 25 years, Susan Nemergut Verzella, two sons, Paul Verzella, Bellingham, WA, Gerald (Nancy) Verzella, Portersville, a daughter, Linda (Curtis) Parsons, Tullahoma, TN, a daughter-in-law, Debbie Verzella, East Liverpool, OH, nine grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.

As per his wishes cremation services were conducted by the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.
