Phyllis M. Kitchen Gallaher

Phyllis M. (Gallaher) Kitchen, 89, of Vanport, passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at Rochester Manor. Born June 17, 1926 in Clearfield, PA, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Golden Westover Gallaher and had been a resident of Vanport Township for 51 years. During that time, she devoted her life to being a homemaker, later owning her own yarn shop. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Raymond Kitchen, her son, Terry Kitchen, her brothers and their wives, John and Dorothy Gallaher, Malcolm and Betty Gallaher, Frank and Alice Gallaher, George and Hazel Gallaher and Donald Gallaher. Also preceding Phyllis in death were her sisters, Cora Mae Gallaher and Mildred Gallaher Summerville and her brother-in-law, Paul Summerville. She is survived by her grandson, Terry Kitchen, Jr., nieces, Joan (Chuck) Hack, Blossom (Steve) Molnar, Patricia ( Joe) Horner, Patricia Thompson and Ruth Ann McGarvy, and one nephew, John (Buddy) Gallaher. Phyllis will also be missed by her 26 great nieces and nephews, 45 great, great nieces and nephews, and many friends including the Pat Shaffer Family, Tammy, Ron, Ashley, and Aaron Nardick, Cheryl Fox, Greg and Margo Collins, Michelle Williams, Cherie Grunzke, Mary and Mike Romigh, Lydia, Laura, Sally, Robin Marshall, Gail Coffey, Attorney James Loll, the Vanport Volunteer Fire Department, and all the Vanport neighbors who knew and loved her. Sadly left behind are also her beloved pets, Izzy and Heidi, and the many stray cats she befriended.
