Ralph S. Hogsett

Ralph S. Hogsett, 92, of Beaver, passed away early Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at Good Samaritan Hospice at Heritage Valley, Beaver, surrounded by his family.

Born November 26, 1922 in Beaver, he was a son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Blanche Hogsett. A Beaver resident all his life, he was a 1940 graduate of Beaver High School. Ralph left as a 19 year-old to proudly serve as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy where as a pilot, he flew a PV-1 while stationed in Brazil during WWII. Ralph retired as an industrial engineer from Crucible Steel, Colt Industries, Midland. He was a faithful member of Park Presbyterian Church, Beaver, having served as a Trustee, Deacon, Elder, and Treasurer. Ralph was a member of the Beaver Valley Chapter of the Model A Ford Club of America, a docent at the Beaver Area Heritage Museum, and a driver for Meals on Wheels.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Dolores Banks Hogsett, two daughters, Kathy (Robert) Hamsher, Moon Township, and Marci (Greg) Sebastian, Economy, a son, Glen (Barb) Hogsett, Clearwater, FL, five grandchildren, Megan Hamsher, Jason (Catherine) Sebastian, Cara Sebastian, Kirstin ( Rich) Lukas, and Lauren Hogsett, one great-granddaughter, Lucy Sebastian, and numerous nieces and nephews. Ralph was anxiously awaiting the birth of his second great-granddaughter.

Beside his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by three brothers Carl, Marion and John Hogsett, and a sister, Mary Malinda Doutt.

Friends will be received Friday from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third Street, Beaver. In absence of his pastor, a funeral service will be conducted by his former pastor, Rev. Paul Wierman at Park Presbyterian Church, Beaver, Saturday, October 10, 2015, at 11:00 am where full military honors by the Beaver County Special Unit will take place. A private interment at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park will follow. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Ralph’s name to Park Presbyterian Church, 275 Commerce Street, Beaver, PA 15009.
