Richard L. “Pete” Kinkead, 88 of Brighton Twp passed away Friday, November 15, 2019.
Born July 16, 1931, in Monaca, he was a son of the late Edward and Margaret Kinkead and had retired as a history teacher as well as the driver’s education teacher with the Beaver Falls School District. He also was the treasurer of the Beaver Falls Teachers FCU. Pete had served as an MP during the Korean War with the US Army. A 1949 graduate of Monaca High School, he earned his education degree from Geneva College in 1953. Pete was an outstanding basketball player and was an All-American at Geneva, holds a free throw record at Fitzgerald Fieldhouse, and is an inductee at both the Geneva College Hall of Fame and the Beaver County Hall of Fame. As an avid golfer, he also had served as Beaver Falls golf and basketball coach. He not only loved sports, but also loved to garden, watch classic movies, going to the movies, Star Wars, and sharing time with his sons.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Frances Costanzo Kinkead, 2 sons, Richard L. (Jaime) Kinkead, Jr, of Hopewell and Edward Frank Kinkead of Brighton Twp. He was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews and was “Pappy Pete” to Eleanora “Nora” Jane, who always brought a smile to his face.
Preceding him in death besides his parents was a brother, John Kinkead and a sister, Norma Bliss.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 am at Saints Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church celebrated By Father Robert Miller. Interment will take place at the Cemetery of the Alleghenies. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Saints Peter and Paul School or to the Beaver Falls Salvation Army.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Vitas Hospice and to caretaker Elaine Clark for the loving care given to Pete.
