Richard D. Sprecker, 90, of Beaver, passed away Thursday evening, December 8, 2016, at Providence Care Center, Beaver Falls.
Born July 31, 1926, in Olean, New York, Richard was a son of the late Guy and Edna (Sutter) Sprecker, and was a resident of Beaver for nearly 45 years. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II on a patrol craft in the Pacific Theater as a machine gunner and a special rescue team swimmer. He worked as a lineman with the Duquesne Light Company for 38 years, and after retirement worked for 10 years as an employee of the American Red Cross.
Richard is survived by his wife of 67 years, Billie Christian Sprecker; a son, Rick (MaryAnn) Sprecker, Beaver; a daughter, Deborah (Pete) Bilotto, Beaver; a brother, Robert E. (Lois) Sprecker, New Brighton; three sisters, Joyce Profitt, Highland Heights, Kentucky; Claudia (Charles) Benhase, Cincinnati, and Karen Richey, Fort Thomas, Kentucky; his cherished grandchildren, Jim (Claudia) Bilotto, Atlanta; Heather (Chad) Coladonato, Beaver; Tina Bilotto, Northville, Michigan; Shawn Sprecker, New York; Joseph (Kristi) Bilotto, Midland; Krissy (Tim Smith) Bilotto, Baltimore; and nine great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Beaver County Cancer Association, 3582 Brodhead Rd., Monaca, PA 15061.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staffs of Providence and Grane Hospice for the loving care given to Richard.
