Richard F. “Tito” Torres, 74, a lifelong resident of Midland passed away Sunday January 31, 2016 at Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh..

Born February 6, 1941, he was a son of the late Jose and Irene Vitella Torres. He served our country in the U.S. Army, a veteran of the 8th ID Airborne. Tito retired in 2006 as an industrial painter with International Painters and Allied Trades, District Council 57 of Pittsburgh. A faithful member of St. Blaise Parish, he was also a 4th degree with the Knights of Columbus, Midland 2005, Midland VFW Post 8164 as well as the American Legion Post 481 in Midland.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers Ernest, Jose, Gregorio “Hank”, and Roselio “Chio” Torres and two sisters Irene Trevino and Sara Mireles.

Surviving Tito are his loving fiancée Mary Lu DeRose Connolly, Toronto, OH; one son, Ricardo J. (Suzanne) Torres, Midland; three daughters, Christine (Janice Poma) Dombrowski, Midland, Maria E. (Pete Padilla) Gutierrez, Moon Township, Lisa (Chuck) Lee, Florida; one brother, Jesse “Chewy” (Patty) Torres; five sisters, Louisa “Chicha” Torres, Andrea “LaLa” Torres, Julia Maloney, Cecilia “Cookie” Torres, and Eleanor “Tootsie” (Stanley) Olash; nine grandchildren, Connor James, Claire Juliette and Cole Joaquin Torres, Gregory (Stevie) Dombrowski, Jessica (Stephen) Mayo, Julia (Shane Hoover) Dombrowski, Michaela and Myah Gutierrez, Kelsey Hogan; five great-grandchildren, Peyton and Braeden Mayo, McKenna and Kiera Kelley, Jaycee Dombrowski; the mother of his children, Jean Torres, Beaver and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.

Friends will be received Wednesday 2 – 4pm and 6 – 9pm in the Schwerha-Noll Funeral Home, 600 Beaver Avenue Midland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted by Father Michael Yaksick on Thursday February 4, 2016 at 10:30am at St. Blaise Parish, Midland. Interment with full military honors by the Beaver County Special Unit will follow at Beaver Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to McGuire Memorial Home 200 North Mercer Avenue New Brighton, PA 15066. The family would like to extend their appreciation to all of the doctors, nurses, and staff of the 11th and 12th floors at Allegheny General Hospital of Pittsburgh for the loving care of Tito.
