Richard D. Ward Sr., 79, of Ohioville, passed away unexpectedly Monday, April 22, 2024.
Born March 27, 1945 in Rochester, Richard was a son of the late Marshal “Woody” and Nelle Ward. He had been a resident of this area all his life. After 38 years, Richard retired in 2003 as a Maintenance Supervisor with Eaton Corporation, Vanport.
Richard taught hunter safety courses for 50 years, an active member of Midland Sportsman’s League, a lifelong NRA member and Beaver County Conservation League, where he was the cook at Conservation Camp. He loved his horses and covered wagon. Richard also loved the outdoors, and especially hunting, but his favorite activity was anything he did with his grandchildren.
Richard will be greatly missed by his wife of 58 years, Joan (Carr) Ward, Ohioville; Sons, Rick (Karen) Ward, DuBois, PA, Marty (Debbie) Ward, Alliance, OH, and John (Tiffany) Ward, Ohioville, PA; brothers, Norm Ward, Brighton Township, PA, and Bob (Marsha) Ward, Ohioville, PA; grandchildren, Rebecca (Brent) Godissart, R.J. (Kim Morrison) Ward, C.J. Ward, Brett (Rachael Vickers) Ward, Carrie (Chase) Bartholomew, Abby Miller, Josh (Halie Parsons) Miller, Jenna (Mikyah) McGee, and Savina Ford and Alyssa Bradford; great-grandchildren, Jaycee and Jolene Ward, and Rylee and Liam Bartholomew.
Friends will be received Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 1 PM to 5 PM in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc. 333 Third St., Beaver. Online condolences may be shared at nollfuneral.com.
Private interment will take place at a later date.
