Robert T. Barrett

Robert Thomas “Tom” Barrett, age 59, of Raleigh, NC formerly of Beaver, PA, passed away August 18, 2017. He was born March 14, 1958 in Beaver Falls, PA at Providence Hospital. He is survived by his daughters Megan Barrett of Hickory, NC and Mallory Barrett of Raleigh, NC; mother Isabelle Barrett of Beaver, PA; sister Mary Massaro (Phil) of Maryville, TN; brother Sam Barrett (Caroline) of Beaver, PA; brother Chris Barrett (Amber) of Freedom, PA; former wife Bonnie Barrett of Raleigh, NC and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Tom was preceded in death by his Father, Robert C. “Bob” Barrett. Tom graduated from Beaver Area Senior High School in 1976 and Geneva College with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1980. He was a member of Post 488 and enjoyed Canoe and Snow Trails in the mid 1970’s. As a member of Post 780 Boy Scouts, he earned his Eagle Scout award in 1976. After college, Tom moved to Raleigh, NC and worked for ElectriCities of NC until 1997. In 1998, Tom started Classic Canoes, Restorers of Traditional Canoes and Wooden Watercraft. Tom will be remembered for his love of the outdoors and his passions for canoeing, kayaking, hunting, restoration of traditional wood canvas canoes, and his writing. Friends will be received on Sunday, August 27, 2017, 3 – 5 p.m. at NOLL FUNERAL HOME INC., 333 Third St., Beaver, PA, followed by a Blessing Service at 5 p.m. At a later date, the immediate family will gather for Interment of Ashes at the Beaver Cemetery.
