Robert H. Barrickman

Robert H. Barrickman, 67, of Beaver, formerly of Industry, passed away with family at his side, Tuesday, December 6, 2022, at UPMC Passavant, McCandless.

Born September 1, 1955 in New Brighton, he was a son of the late Charles M. and Helen G. (Hamilton) Barrickman. An award-winning journalist and broadcaster, Bob was a household name for the past 40-years in the greater Pittsburgh area. He worked as a sports writer for the Beaver County Times, and also was employed with the Pittsburgh Press and Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, along with local radio stations, including WBVP. Readers of the Beaver County Times will remember his popular column “Another Look”. He also worked in the Treasury Office at the Beaver County Courthouse, Beaver.

Bob was active with the Beaver Area Jaycees, Beaver County Hall of Fame, Slippery Rock Hall of Fame, Penn State Beaver Communications Advisory Board, YMCA, and the Distinguished Young Woman Scholarship Program where he served as Master of Ceremonies. He was a recipient of the Rochester Chamber of Commerce Community Service Award.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brothers, Charles “Chuck” and John Barrickman.

He will be sadly missed by his sisters, Barbara Barrickman, Beaver and Mary Lou Barrickman Smalley, Freedom; three nephews, Ryan (Shannon) Smalley, Jeff (Kristen) Smalley and Andrew (Stacey) Smalley; seven great-nephews; one great-niece; and his beloved cats.

Friends will be received Sunday, December 18, 2022, from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m., and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the Noll Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Third St., Beaver, where a service will take place Monday, December 19, 2022 at 11 a.m. Interment will occur at Beaver Cemetery.
