Robert F. Garvin Jr., 84, of Beaver, passed away October 6, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 27, 1939, in Rochester, Bob was the son of the late Robert F. Sr. and Pearl (Canuti) Garvin. He was a lifelong and faithful member of Park Presbyterian Church, where he was an Elder and served as a chairman of the Renovation Taskforce, and the Stained-Glass Window Restoration Committee. Bob was a 1957 graduate of Beaver High School, having received the Kay Lewis and Paul Jones Awards, he also attended and graduated Cum Laude from Michigan State University in 1961, and he proudly served as a Captain in the United States Air Force, where he was awarded the Air Force Commendation Medal. Bob was the former owner of Bob Garvin Agency Inc., he was the first Realtor of Beaver County to receive the CRB Designation, he was twice named as REALTOR® of the year, and chaired annual Make a Wish community fundraising events for Prudential Preferred Realty. Bob also was the former president of the Beaver County Association of REALTORS®. He served as president of United Way for two terms, a former member of Beaver County YMCA Board, Beaver County Man of the year in 1983, served on the Beaver School Board for eighteen years, six years as president, was on the Board of Directors for Century National Bank, and also the president of the Beaver Valley Country Club 1981 and 1982. Bob was an avid Pittsburgh and Michigan State University sports fan, enjoyed long adventure walks, and was an excellent golfer, having made multiple holes in one. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Paulette Garvin, and Sally Heimbrook; and his son-in-law, Francis Leskowicz. Bob will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 41 years, Mary McKinney Garvin; children, Jean Mahan, Richard (Lona) Hemer, Suzette Leskowicz, and Thomas (Heidi) Hemer; sister, Patricia Nunamaker; grandchildren, Holynne Steppe, Patrick (Natalie) Steppe, Siobhan (Anthony) Monroe, Sean Mahan, Shannon Mahan, Conner Mahan, Nicole Leskowicz, Daniel Leskowicz, Tommy Hemer, Nick Hemer, and Brooklyn Hemer; great-grandchildren, James Robert Monroe, and Charlotte Jean Monroe; as well as numerous nieces and a nephew. Friends will be received on Thursday October 12, 2023, from 2pm to 4pm and 6pm to 8pm in the Noll Funeral Home Inc., 333 Third Street, Beaver, PA 15009. A Funeral Service will be conducted on Friday October 13, 2023 at 11am at Park Presbyterian Church, 275 Commerce Street, Beaver, PA 15009. Online condolences may be shared at www.nollfuneral.com.
