Robert P. Hines, 96, formerly of Brighton Twp., passed away on August 15, 2023, with his family by his side. Born on March 30, 1927, in Wheeling, W.V., he was the son of the late John and Marie Hines, and a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in WWII. Robert has resided at Sherwood Oaks, Cranberry, for the last 13 years. Robert was a graduate of Wheeling High School, and later graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in Geology. He went on to work for Arco Chemical, Potter Twp, and retired after 34 years. Robert also was a member of the Beaver Area Heritage Foundation and volunteered at the museum. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Jack and Tom Hines; sister Mary Dawson; and son-in-law, Ty Harden. Robert will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 73 years, Lois Jane Conner Hines; sons, Robert (Pat) Hines Jr., Oakland FL, Jeff (Lu) Hines, Sherrodsville, OH, David (Julie) Hines, Cranberry, Twp., and Tom Hines, Rockville, MD; daughters, Vicki Harden, Beaver, and Beth (Melanie) Hines, Sherrodsville, OH; along with eleven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. A Memorial Visitation will be held at the Noll Funeral Home Inc., 333 Third Street, Beaver, PA 15009, on Saturday August 26, 2023 from 1pm until the time of service at 3pm. The family of Robert would like to share their gratitude to the staff at the Oak Grove Center of Sherwood Oaks and Bridges Hospice staff for their loving and compassionate care given to Robert during this time.
